Solar Powered Barge

Self-Powered Solar Utility Barge

Today, we shipped our solar powered utility sanitation barge to our client Moss Harbor Landing in California. Our client wanted an easily maintained low cost operated and highly durable barge that can weather grueling day to day operations in a Marina and Harbor. All Welded Aluminum Construction using state of the art cutting and welding techniques ensured high durability and strength. This also reduced lifetime costs in the form of corrosion control, repainting as well as major repairs like leaks, cracks, and problems stemming from structural fatigue. The 45% in weight savings achieved through all welded aluminum construction directly translated into fuel/power savings. The sanitation barge is equipped with a 12V solar panel powered DC unit for remote operations as well as a 120V AC unit for dockside operations. The high speed pump installed in this barge can drain waste from boaters’ tanks into self-contained holding tanks in the barge in less time. Removable Waste & Water Tanks also made maintenance easy and odorless. The design features allowed us to have space on the deck of the barge to be used for transportation as well as making the solar powered barge ADA accessible.
